Common questions
Do my clients need an account?
No. Clients review, approve, and download through secure tokenized links. Only you sign in.
Does Proofmark process my project payments?
No — and that's deliberate. You collect payment through whatever works between you and your client (bank transfer, payment link, Wise…). Proofmark records the payment state you confirm, gates final files on it, and takes 0% commission. Subscription billing for Proofmark itself is handled by Dodo Payments.
What exactly gets recorded when a client approves?
The approval timestamp (UTC), the IP address it came from, the client's signature, and the SHA-256 hash of the version approved. Completed handovers can issue a certificate with a public verification URL.
Can a client get the final files without paying?
Not through Proofmark. Payment-gated files are refused at the download route until you confirm payment — the lock is server-side, not cosmetic. You can always unlock manually if you choose to.
Is a Proofmark record legally binding?
Proofmark keeps honest, timestamped records of approval, delivery, and payment status. Whether a record is enforceable depends on your contract and jurisdiction — it is not a substitute for legal advice, and we don't pretend otherwise.
